Oct 07, 2020 · As for the “Pistol Brace” gadget, while it is a brilliant ‘work-around’ for the ‘laws regarding Short-Barrel Rifles, they are like the Bump Stocks, IMO, of limited utility in practical terms; I have a Sig 5.56 ‘Pistol’ that came with one, and took it off after the second session of Shooting.
Furthermore, no credible source I know of is touting said opinion letter as the law of the land and advising people to go forth and slap VFG on pistols to their hearts' content. Normally something like this is pretty big news. Want to put a VFG on your pistol and use the brace as part of OAL? Great, go ahead - you're likely fine either way.

And from my perspective, almost all "Braces" look like telescoping stocks. Let's be honest here. Now, do I think the whole idea of the ATF's over-regulation of SBR's is bullshit? Yes.

Dec 22, 2020 · With the declaration of the DOJ and ATF’s intent to reclassify braced firearms based on “objective” features without objective definitions, it seems that the age of the brace may be over. The government is required to have a comment period when citizens can express their opinions on such a rule change, but many are asking if it even matters.
